Argentina has announced its decision to withdraw from the World Health Organisation (WHO), aligning with a similar move made by the United States under President Donald Trump.
The announcement was made on Wednesday by presidential spokesperson Manuel Adorni, signaling a significant shift in Argentina’s global health policy.
The decision follows Trump’s executive order last month, which formalised the US exit from WHO, citing concerns over the organisation’s handling of global health crises and its relationship with China.
Argentina’s withdrawal suggests growing skepticism among some nations regarding WHO’s role and effectiveness.
