APC National Leadership Expresses Readiness For LG Polls In Enugu, Re-Affirms Agballah As Chairman

The National Leadership of the All Progressives Congress, (APC) has said that the party is ready to take part in the upcoming local government elections across the 17 local governments ares in Enugu State.

National chairman of the APC, Umar Ganduje made known during a meeting of stakeholders in Enugu which held at the party’s state secretariat yesterday.

Ganduje, who was represented by the Deputy National Chairman South of the party, Emma Eneukwu said that the party was working tirelessly to ensure that it reclaims power in Enugu state.

“That will begin by winning all the local government areas in the state,” he said. “We are calling on all leaders of the party across different wards to ensure that they galvanize their people and ensure that they support the APC,”.

During the meeting, which was attended by the Ministry of  Innovation, Science and Technology, Uche Nnaji, stakeholders of the party also re-affirmed that Ugochukwu Agballa remains the chairman of the party in Enugu State.

The stakeholders frowned at what they described as the recent display of gross indiscipline and total disregard to the APC Constitution by some misguided party members who had met in an hotel and announced the suspension of Agballah and three other executives of the party in Enugu state.

“The purported suspension did not follow due process as no meeting was held, no petition was written and it was never discussed at SEC and the national levels were never notified, no fact finding was made in accordance with the party’s Constitution before the purported announcement of illegal suspension,”the stakeholders said.

The stakeholders announced the suspension of party members involved in the illegal suspension, a decision which they said, followed the recommendations of the disciplinary committee set up to look into the matter. Gideon Arinze
