The Progressive Governors’ Forum (PGF) has thrown its weight behind the federal government’s recent decision to remove subsidy on petroleun products.
The governors, elected on the platform of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), expressed their support on Friday during a courtesy call on President Bola Tinubu at the State House, Abuja.
The progressive governors also expressed concern about the sudden hike in petrol prices following the president’s inaugural speech.
Speaking to newsmen after a closed-door meeting with the President, Chairman of the PGF and governor of Imo State, Senator Hope Uzodinma, condemned the price increase on what he describes as “old stuck” and called on Nigerians to rally behind the government’s decision to remove the subsidy.
