Anthony Edwards received a $100,000 fine from the NBA on Sunday for his use of profanity during a live television interview. This penalty marks the third time in three weeks that the Minnesota Timberwolves star has been sanctioned by the league, which subsequently increased the fine.
The latest infraction pertains to Edwards’ comments following the Timberwolves’ narrow 113-112 victory in Houston on Friday. The NBA noted in its statement that it considered “Edwards’ history of using profane language during media interviews.”
Earlier, on Monday, Edwards was fined $75,000 for publicly criticising officiating and using profanity. This came after he was fined $25,000 for remarks made following the Timberwolves’ win at Golden State on December 6.
Additionally, on November 17, Edwards was fined $35,000 for making an obscene gesture on the court.
