The Edo State, Labour Party Candidate, Olumide Akpata who attended the debate organized by the Edo State Council, Nigeria Union of Journalists, over the weekend, berated the candidates of the All Progressives Congress, Monday Okpebholo and his Peoples Democratic Party counterpart, Asue Ighodalo, for not showing up for the debate.

Akpata called on Nigerians to insist that those aspiring to govern them must be made accountable to them.

He described the failure of both candidates to honour the invitation to debate, as an outright disregard for the people of Edo State.
