Spokesman of Nigeria’s Southern Governors’ Forum, Ondo Governor Rotimi Akeredolu, says the rank and file of Nigeria’s northern governors will be broken should they kick against plans by their southern counterpart to implement a ban on open grazing across the 17 southern states.
The 17 southern state governors had on Tuesday after a meeting placed a ban on open grazing of cattle across the region, noting that development and population growth has put pressure on available land and increased the prospects of conflict between migrating herders and local populations.
