Air Peace, Nigeria’s leading airline is celebrating the first anniversary of its Lagos-London route, highlighting a year of growth, strategic partnerships, and passenger-focused initiatives.
In a statement signed by Ejike Ndiulo, Head of Corporate Communications at Air Peace Limited, the airline emphasised its commitment to expanding Nigeria’s international aviation footprint while delivering world-class service to travelers.
According to Ndiulo, since launching the route on March 30, 2024, Air Peace has operated 662 flights and transported over 136,661 passengers aboard its Boeing 777 aircraft, offering competitive fares and a high-quality travel experience.
The expansion into the European market was also a landmark achievement for Nigerian aviation, strengthening the country’s global presence and providing passengers with an alternative to foreign carriers.
Over the past year, the airline has introduced several initiatives to enhance passenger convenience, including generous luggage allowances, improved airport transfers, exclusive limousine services through a partnership with SIMPLAA UK, discounted fares for students, and premium rewards in collaboration with brands like Samsung.
Speaking on the milestone, Air Peace Chairman and CEO, Dr. Allen Onyema, described the Lagos-London route as a defining moment for both the airline and Nigeria’s aviation industry.
He expressed pride in the airline’s ability to sustain and grow the service, despite industry challenges, and reiterated Air Peace’s mission to make international travel more accessible and affordable for Nigerians. He also emphasised that sustaining the London route requires national support, urging Nigerians to patronize their own carriers to strengthen the country’s aviation sector.
The statement also noted that the Lagos-London service has had a significant impact on Nigeria’s economy, creating jobs, boosting tourism and business travel, reducing dependence on foreign airlines, and increasing competition in the aviation market.
As Air Peace looks to the future, the airline remains committed to expanding its global reach, with plans to introduce more long-haul routes and enhance service offerings. The company reaffirmed its dedication to positioning Nigeria as a strong competitor in international aviation while ensuring passengers continue to enjoy top-tier service.
