Ahmed Musa Appointed As Sports Ambassador For Kano State

Ahmed Musa, captain of the Nigerian national football team, the Super Eagles, has been appointed as the Sports Ambassador for Kano State. The announcement was made on Wednesday by Abdullahi Baffa Bichi, Secretary to the State Government, with the appointment taking effect from July 24, 2024.

Musa’s appointment was attributed to his outstanding performance in football, his extensive experience, and his humanitarian contributions to the state. As Sports Ambassador, Musa is expected to promote sporting activities in Kano, including supporting local players and clubs.

In response to the news, the 32-year-old Kano Pillars player expressed his gratitude via Instagram, where he shared the official letter of appointment. “I am deeply honoured to be appointed as the Sports Ambassador for Kano State!” Musa wrote. “This opportunity is quite humbling, and I’m excited to work towards empowering the youth and promoting sports development across the state.”

Musa emphasised Kano’s rich sporting heritage and expressed his eagerness to contribute to the development of athletes and communities in the state. He also thanked the state government, led by Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, for entrusting him with the role, stating, “Together, we’ll inspire the next generation to achieve greatness both on and off the field. Let’s make history!”

Musa joins the ranks of other Super Eagles legends who have previously been appointed to ambassadorial roles, further solidifying his influence both on and off the pitch.
