Ahead of Black History Month, US Museum Returns Ghanaian Artefacts

Just in time for Black History month, the Fowler Museum in the US has returned several Ghanaian artefacts.

European and American museums are under mounting pressure to restore African artefacts stolen during colonial rule.

The return of the items, which hold cultural and historical significance for the Ashanti people has been celebrated as a step towards correcting the injustices of the colonial era.

In 2021, Benin Republic received 26 treasures stolen by the French during the colonial era in 1892.
