For the second time in two days, security operatives have assaulted ARISE News crew covering the #EndSARS protest in the Nigerian capital Abuja.

Security operatives attacked an ARISE crew covering the ongoing protests against police brutality in Nigeria’s capital, Abuja on Tuesday.

It’s the second time in as many days media personnel from the TV station have been assaulted.

Footage from the scene shows activist, Aisha Yesufu, approaching soldiers and protesters, apparently trying to calm down protesters.

A soldier spots the Arise camera crew, and suddenly hits the camera to the ground. The camera man was assaulted, and some protesters were beaten up by the soldiers.

“He was hit with a gun by a soldier,” Ferdinand Duruoha, the reporter on the scene, said. “He was kicked several times. It was a direct attack on the station and the media.”

Two days ago, policemen attacked and brutalised an Arise News Channel crew covering the IGP Mohammed Adamu’s dissolution of rogue police unit, the Special Anti-robbery Squad (SARS).

The cameraman, Francis Ogbonna was hit several times on the head and his camera destroyed.

ARISE News can confirm the camera man attacked on Tuesday has sustained minor injuries, and is safe.
