Afrobeats Star Davido Launches Nine+ Records In Collaboration With UnitedMasters

Nigerian music sensation Davido has teamed up with UnitedMasters, a US distribution company, to launch Nine+ Records, a fresh addition to the music industry landscape.

Davido expressed his ambition to transcend Afrobeats and capture the attention of global audiences through Nine+ Records during an exclusive interview with Billboard. He highlighted his dedication to fostering emerging talent and addressing the challenges faced by young artists as key motivations for this venture.

Davido’s vision for Nine+ Records encompasses a diverse range of genres, including R&B and trap, with a primary focus on nurturing talent across Africa and potentially expanding worldwide.

While the label has yet to unveil any artistes, Steve Stoute, CEO of UnitedMasters, revealed that the inspiration for Nine+ Records stemmed from a connection forged with Davido during the 2023 UnitedMasters SelectCon.

Stoute emphasised his commitment to supporting Davido and the label’s future endeavours, aiming to provide structural support and financial backing to facilitate their creative journey.

Davido, who previously established DMW in April 2016, which he later rebranded to DMW 2.0, continues to solidify his presence in the music industry with this latest venture, signalling his dedication to innovation and talent development.
