Adamawa Governor Fintiri Calls for Accountability from Newly-Elected Local Government Officials

Adamawa Governor Fintiri urged the newly-elected LG officials to serve the people responsibly, as the “era of absenteeism is gone.”

The Governor of Adamawa State, Rt. Hon. Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, has urged the 21 newly-elected Local Government Council Chairmen and 226 Councilors across the state to serve responsibly.

 Fintiri made the disclosure on Monday, during the swearing in of the newly elected council chairmen in Yola Adamawa State capital.

He praised the people of the state for continuously believing in the ruling Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) and voting overwhelmingly for the party during the council elections last Saturday.

Fintiri assured the newly-elected officials that they must continue to serve the people responsibly, as the era of absenteeism is gone.

The Governor emphasised the importance of transparency and accountability, urging the chairmen to shun corruption and be accountable to the people.

He reminded them that their performance has a direct bearing on the fortune of the PDP and urged them to take their duties seriously

Fintiri solicited support and prayers from the people for the new chairmen and the state government, promising to continue serving the people better

However he congratulated the PDP, Council Chairmen and Councilors for a well-deserved victory at the LGA polls held last Saturday in the state.
