A Quiet Place 2′ Delayed to September 2021

‘A Quiet Place II’ has been handed a new release date, becoming the latest 2021 film to be delayed because of coronavirus.

The sequel to John Krasinski’s post-apocalyptic thriller starring Emily Blunt has now been postponed for the third time, moving to 17 September. It was originally scheduled for release in March last year.

The original film was a word-of-mouth hit, earning $340m globally from a $17m budget.

Paramount, the distributor for ‘A Quiet Place II’, has previously sold some of its postponed titles to streaming services, with ‘Coming 2 America’ and Aaron Sorkin’s ‘The Trial of the Chicago 7’ going to Netflix and Amazon.

However, Variety reports that the studio remains confident about A Quiet Place II and will aim to release it in cinemas this year.

The rescheduling comes after James Bond film ‘No Time to Die’ was postponed yet again, now to October.
