Professor Wole Soyinka has likened former US president Donald Trump to Uganda’s Yoweri Museveni and other despotic leaders in Africa.

Soyinka called Trump an “empty shell and a balloon”, and drew parallels between him and Museveni, who recently secured a sixth term in Uganda amid accusations of voter fraud by his main rival, Bobi Wine.
“We have a Trump in Uganda in Museveni. He’s not the only one, we have them all over the continent,” Soyinka told Arise News.
